APPLE BAN APP UPDATE BECAUSE OF TINY MENTION OF ANDRIOD.
An update to an app called Breaking got banned because one of the screenshots contained the unholy word “Android.”
Breaking is an application that lets users choose the type of news items they would like to have appear in the “Today” feed inside iOS’ Notification Center.
The decision is of course in line with the App Store’s review guideline 3.1, which says “Apps or metadata that mentions the name of any other mobile platform will be rejected.”
However, it is ridiculous to assume that the Android mention in the screenshot was more than an honest accident. Still, it seems like Apple doesn't care about “fatal” mishaps such as this one.
On the other hand, this “incident” does prove that Apple is very thorough when reviewing the apps submitted for approval to its store. But maybe some of the reviewers got a little carried away this time, don’t you think?
